Topic Two: Pattern and Ornaments - In-class exercises (Directed Drawings: three & 2D-to-3D translation); Replicating my classmate's 3D model

The one I chose to sculpt ^^^

Reflection:
Throughout the entire process of the three sketches we were asked to do, I was confused in every single way you can think of. Perhaps, I'm just exaggerating but I had a difficult time understanding, I felt angry with the world. Believe me I wanted to give up in following the directions that I was being instructed. I wanted to figure it out my own way. It is the same way when a stranger give you a direction to the nearest Starbucks, you don't have any idea what they told you but you pretend that you did understand his sense of directions. I would have made the destination in my own way all by myself, rather than trying to understand the information the person has given me. Since this was a test I just had to choke on it and figure out the instructions that were given, sadly.

Once we had to pick which of the three we had to re-create in 3D form, I tried to pick the easiest one. Or so I thought It was easy! I picked the one that has a red triangle, green circle, some lines and highlights. While using the paper and tape that was given, the entire time was frustrated. I don't really enjoy crafting, it's not something I like to do at all. Crafting out of “garbage” isn't my cup of tea. Although I did manage to make the model but I wasn't very proud of it. The reason why I wasn't amazed by it, it's because of the amount of thinking I had to do that i was so close to getting a migraine! No offense, 3D to me seems like a game that you keep losing. Each new way I found to solve the problems I was facing, the piece wouldn't make sense or just didn't look right to me.

Unfortunately, the entire progress of building the model as well as trying to understand the instructions that were told to create a drawing was difficult. I learn visually! It really tested my patience.
